MuralShield™ Aerosol is a ready-to-use 15oz spray can. No mixing, thinning, or solvent-rated spray equipment required. Just shake and spray. It's an easy way to protect and preserve smaller murals and fine art, or to test the product before committing to a larger project. • Purpose: MuralShield™ is a system designed to preserve and protect murals, acting as a comprehensive anti-graffiti and preservation coating system when using MuralShield and World's Best Graffiti Coating together.
• Applications: Ideal for use on both new and weather-aged murals, specifically tailored for acrylic and aerosol murals. The aerosol format is well suited to smaller surfaces, touch-ups, and detail work.
• System Composition: A two-part system combining MuralShield™ with World's Best Graffiti Coating (WBCG) for enhanced protection.

Features:

• Consolidation and Protection: Consolidates mural colors and textures, offers UV protection and weatherproofing.
• Technology: Incorporates Ultraviolet Light Absorber and Hindered Amine Light Stabilizer to extend the lifespan of colors and paint binders, preventing UV light deterioration, paint cracking, and chalking.
• Restoration: Revitalizes existing murals by restoring color and consolidating weather-worn pigments.
• Preparation: Suitable for prepping painted or uncoated walls before mural application.
• Aesthetic Quality: Ensures a lustrous sheen with minimal reflection, especially effective with World's Best Graffiti Coating. MuralShield on its own results in a gloss finish and a more satin finish when paired with World's Best Graffiti Coating.
• Compatibility: Works well with acrylic-based, hybrid water-based, and fine art aerosol spray paints. Not recommended for oil-based paints. MuralShield™ will not consolidate through oil-based paint, but will instead act as a coating.

Application Instructions:

• Shake well before use. No spray equipment needed — the aerosol can is ready to use straight away.
• Distance & technique: Spray at least 10–12 inches from the artwork. Stroke horizontally across the surface, overlapping each pass by about ½ inch and beginning/ending the spray beyond the edges so you never stop on the art itself.
• Coats: Apply two to three generous coats, allowing at least 20–30 minutes of drying time between coats. For each subsequent coat, turn the artwork 90° (or alternate between spraying horizontally and vertically).
• Vulnerable layers: To avoid runs or bleeding, mist coat the first application to seal the artwork, let it dry at least 30 minutes, then build up the subsequent coats.
• Conditions: Do not apply in very high humidity or when the surface is moist. Do not expose the can to temperatures above 50°C/122°F.
• Graffiti protection: Once MuralShield has dried thoroughly (allow an hour or two so it is dry to the touch), follow with World's Best Graffiti Coating as a sacrificial anti-graffiti barrier. WBGC can be sprayed or brushed, avoiding rolling. Learn more on How to Apply MuralShield.
• Testing: Always conduct a test application on an inconspicuous area before full use to confirm compatibility and final finish. Some color shift can be expected depending on the media and substrate.
